Animals

Deer are usually skittish around horses. Today they were almost bumping into each other. We have a lot of whitetail deer that seem to like acreages. According to Ross MacDonald, it's because they prefer our fringe habitat. Terrain that's not too open or heavily treed.

Neighbours

During the winter, the sun melts the snow on the south facing slope, visible from my kitchen window. This local family enjoys fine dining and mountain scenery that would be the envy of any prairie ungulate.
